Are you a department or faculty on campus planning an event at UBC Okanagan? Below are some tips that may prove useful.
Involving the Deputy Vice-Chancellor or President
If the event is a ceremonial event such as a Building Opening, Ground Breaking or Building Dedication, in which you hope to involve the DVC or President, contact the Ceremonies Office. We will evaluate your event and guide you as to the next steps in terms of securing the DVC or President’s time and engaging key partners, including University Relations, Government Relations and more.
If you do not require assistance with an event but wish the President to speak at it, you may go to the President’s office website and complete a “Speech Request”. To request a speech from the DVC please use the DVC Speech Request Form.
Development & Alumni Engagement
If the event is a donor recognition event such as a dinner or luncheon or an alumni event such as a reunion or celebration, you should call the Development and Alumni Engagement Office at 250.807.8565. Even if you plan on executing the whole event within your own unit, they can provide a check list and other useful resources. Development and Alumni Engagement
