The University of British Columbia’s Okanagan Campus Remembrance Day service is held in the campus main courtyard by the flagpoles.
Everyone is welcome to attend this annual ceremony. The ceremony will commence at 10:45 a.m. and will last for approximately 45 minutes. Light refreshments will be served after the ceremony in the Arts Building Foyer. All are welcome to stay.
The 2019 ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 7 and will include participation from Kelowna Legion Branch 26, BC Dragoons and short readings and remarks.
In 2006, UBC’s Okanagan campus held its first Remembrance Day ceremony, which also marked the 50th Anniversary of the First United Nations Peacekeeping Force. Every year is an important year to honour veterans and their service as they continue in the international pursuit of peace.
Since the opening of the War Memorial Gym in 1951, the University of British Columbia in Vancouver has held an annual ceremony commemorating November 11.
